What is XHTML?

Extensible Hypertext Markup Language, or XHTML, is basically a remake of HTML in XML format. It lacks the same flexibility of HTML but at the same time is able to perform under the specifications of XML. Because XHTML uses the XML syntax, or structure, its documents need to be well formed for easy automotive processing. The restrictiveness of XHTML was needed because the extra resources needed for HTML could not be used in devices besides desktop computers. With the preciseness of XHTML, vendors can make better browsers without having to work around small errors all the time.
